The International Union of Biathletes extended the disqualification of Russia and Belarus in the organization

Athletes from these countries will not be able to compete in tournaments.

Congress of International Union of Biathletes (IBU) extended the disqualification of Russia and Belarus from the organization.

The decision of the Executive Committee of March 1, 2022 to ban Russians and Belarusians from international competitions until further notice was confirmed.

It was supported by 39 representatives of Congress, 2 spoke against, 5 abstained.

Recall that on February 24, the President of the Russian Federation Putin made an urgent statement about conducting a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine, starting a large-scale invasion of Ukrainian cities.

After that, Russian sports began to plunge into complete isolation. There are practically no federations left that excluded Russians from their competitions.

In March, the Executive Committee of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) unanimously decided to suspend the activities of the national federations of Belarus and Russia.
