The heating season is under threat: Shmygal appealed to the US Treasury

Ukraine asked for a tranche of 1.5 billion dollars for the purchase of gas.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal spoke with the US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and raised the issue of energy security and passing the upcoming heating season. It was about money for the purchase of gas, the prime minister noted in Telegram.

“We are negotiating the allocation of a tranche in the amount of 1.5 billion dollars from the US Eximbank for the purchase of gas,” he wrote.

Shmyhal also thanked Joe Biden's administration for sending a request to Congress for the allocation of an additional $11.7 billion to Ukraine.
