The head of the Ministry of Finance reported how much is not enough each month for expenses

The government expects up to $16 billion in aid from Western creditors.

according to the main items of the budget, which amount to 5 billion dollars (about 150-160 billion UAH).

“As of August 1, the government has spent all the expenses that were foreseen. We have no debts for any expenses , in particular, we paid the military servicemen's financial support in full,” Marchenko said in an interview with “RBK-Ukraine”.

By the end of the year, the government expects to receive up to $30 billion from Western partners.

“We now have (plans, – ed.) roughly up to 26 billion (dollars, – ed.), maybe more. It depends on the success of the negotiations, it could be up to 30 billion. This is from the beginning of the war in negotiations. We have already received 14, that is, by the end of the year we can receive another 12 to 16 billion,” Marchenko noted.

According to the head of the Ministry of Finance, the NBU printed UAH 230 billion, since more than half of the budget or 30% of GDP goes to support the army. At the same time, he noted that inflation of 22.2% in a country at war, compared to inflation of 10% in Europe and the USA, does not look critical. And the country lives mainly at the expense of income from foreign aid and at the expense of taxes and internal loans.

“Most businesses are trying to get their production, sales and operations back. I see more positives in that. Consumption levels have remained quite high. Even though a lot of people have left, consumption levels are still high. And that's driving the economy as well and economic processes. Yes, we lost from 5 to 9 million potential consumers, but it still did not stop economic processes,” Marchenko noted.

Regarding the budget for 2023, the minister noted that it will be tough .

“There will be no expenses that will not be reviewed. In all areas, there will definitely be a review of all expenses, optimization,” Marchenko added.
