The head of the IAEA noted progress in the creation of a safety zone for the Zaporizhzhia NPP

In his opinion, the situation at the ZNPP is “unbearable” at the moment.

Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA ) Rafael Grossi said that his negotiating efforts in Kyiv and Moscow are bringing the creation of a safe zone for the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant closer. He wrote about this on Twitter.

Although at the same time he called the situation at the ZNPP “unbearable”.

“I am arriving in Poland by night train from Ukraine after an intensive week of consultations with Russia and Ukraine. We are approaching the creation of a protective zone for the Zaporizhzhia NPP – the situation at the plant is intolerable and we need immediate action to protect it,” the Argentine diplomat said on Twitter early Friday.

Let us remind you that on October 6, Grossi arrived in Kyiv for negotiations. After meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky, he went to St. Petersburg, where he held talks with Vladimir Putin. Then he returned to Kyiv.

It was reported that Ukrainian specialists managed to restore the operation of the 750 kV high-voltage communication line of the Dniprovska NPP, which was shut down by emergency on the morning of Wednesday, October 12 , due to another missile attack by the Russian occupiers.
