The German club called on UEFA to remove teams from Belarus from European Cups

German “Cologne” turned to UEFA with a demand remove all teams from the championship of Belarus from participating in the European Cups.

The official letter was published by the press service of the club.

“The board of directors strongly condemns the open closeness of the Belarusian government to Russia, as well as the actions of “related to the war in Ukraine. The huge support for the Russian invasion of Ukraine goes against not only the values ​​of “Cologne”, but also of the whole sport.

For this reason, “Cologne” appealed to UEFA and the president of the organization, Alexander Ceferin, with letter calling for the IOC's recommendations to be followed and for Belarusian teams to be excluded from all UEFA-sponsored tournaments, as was the case with Russian clubs.We have informed the head of the German Football Association of our position and are contacting other Conference League members to enlist their support “, the statement said.
