The EU approved the seventh package of sanctions against Russia

The document should be published in the EU journal tomorrow.

Ambassadors of the member states of the European Union approved the seventh< strong> package of sanctions against Russia because of the war it started against Ukraine. The corresponding decision was made on Wednesday in Brussels as part of the meeting of the Committee of Permanent Representatives (Coreper).

It is expected that this time a ban on the import of Russian gold will be introduced. Restrictive measures will also be applied to 55 people and controls on dual-use goods and technologies will be strengthened.

The decision will be published on Thursday in the Official Journal of the EU, after which it will enter into force.
