The court banned another pro-Russian party from the Justice Ministry's list

Eighth Administrative Court of Appeal in Lviv on June 13 banned the activities of the Socialist Party, which is on the list of the National Security and Defense Council and the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine identified as pro-Russian , HONEST journalists reported.

The property of the Socialist Party and all its members cells, according to a court decision, is transferred to the state. However, the court decision itself can still be appealed in the Supreme Court.

The Socialist Party was registered in August 2014 under the name “Workers, Peasants, Intellectuals of Ukraine.” The party received the current name “Socialists” in February 2015. At that time, the leader of the Socialists was Vasyl Tsushko, who was first Minister of Economy in Azarov's government (2010) and later headed the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (2010-2014). In 2006-2007, Vasyl Tsushko was the Minister of Internal Affairs in Viktor Yanukovych's government. Since 1994, Tsushko has been elected to parliament from the Socialist Party of Ukraine several times.

In the 2015 elections, the party nominated candidates for regional centers and regional councils in most regions of the country, but did not run for any council. p>

The rhetoric of the party's representatives has been about the same all these years – the emphasis on “pro-Europeanism”, slogans for all good and against all bad and criticism of the government (both Poroshenko and Zelensky).

Later, on May 14, the President signed the Law “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on the Prohibition of Political Parties” . The document expands the list of grounds for banning a political party in court. In particular, the grounds are justification, recognition of legality or denial of armed aggression against Ukraine.
