The Belgian consulate reopens in Kyiv

Diplomats return to the capital of Ukraine.

The Belgian embassy in the Ukrainian capital has been closed since March for security reasons, according to The Brussels Times. After the withdrawal of the Russian military from the territory of Kyiv and Chernihiv regions, the international missions resume their work in Kyiv.

After the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the European Union in Luxembourg, Foreign Minister Sophie Wilmes announced the decision to reopen the consulate in Ukraine.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, during his speech before the Belgian Parliament, thanked for the full support and called to inspire Europeans to do more for Ukraine.
