Struggle for Central Asia: US Deputy Secretary of State to visit Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan

State Department representative Donald Lu will express the commitment of the USA to the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of these countries.

Deputy Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Donald Lu will visit Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan on November 6-11 to confirm the commitment of the United States to the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of these countries.

In Turkmenistan, Deputy State Secretary Lu will meet with graduates of the exchange program. He will also hold meetings with senior officials to discuss partnership on a range of bilateral and regional issues.

The delegation will then travel to Uzbekistan, where they will meet with government, civil society, and cultural groups to further advance U.S. support for the empowerment of women and girls, as well as freedom of religion and belief.

In Kazakhstan, Lu will meet with economic and business leaders to discuss Central Asia's economic stability and regional ties, as well as civil society leaders to support their vital role in shaping Kazakhstan's future.

While in the region, Lu will discuss the implementation of the Central Asia Economic Resilience Initiative. As part of this initiative, the US will allocate $25 million to strengthen regional trade routes and capacity, train and train a skilled workforce, and attract international investment to Central Asia.
