Shell is secretly buying Russian energy resources – Bloomberg

The company uses a scheme of mixing Russian fuel with non-Russian.

The largest European oil company Shell Plc, which is publicly has declared refusal of the Russian oil, continues to buy it. Javier Blas, an expert on the energy and raw materials market, told Bloomberg about this. The fact is that only 49.99% of barrels were produced in Russia, and 50.01% were supplied from other sources. Such a cargo for Shell is not of Russian origin.

According to Blas, this maneuver underlies the growing and non-transparent market of mixed Russian diesel fuel and other refined products, one of many used by oil companies and commodity traders. to secure Russian energy supplies to Europe while satisfying public opinion, which calls for an end to trade in Vladimir Putin's military vehicle.

In the case of Shell, the company amended the so-called general terms and conditions of its contracts to reverse this scheme with Russia.

Earlier, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba turned to Shell, which secretly bought Russian oil. He asked if Russian oil smelled of Ukrainian blood.
