Shakhtar scores 12-year-old teenager who survived Mariupol bombing in charity match

Donetsk residents excelled.

During the charity match between ” 12-year-old Dmytro Keda came on the field as a miner “” and “Lechia” in the Donetsk team.

Dima spent the whole day with the team and came on as a substitute at the very end of the match with the score 2: 2.

The players of both teams parted ways in front of Dima, and he ran into the penalty area and sent the ball into the empty net of the Polish club.

Dima was born in Khartsyzsk, Donetsk region and lived there for the first 9 years. The city has been occupied by separatists and Russians since 2014, and the family lost their jobs and moved to Mariupol in 2018.

Dmytro and his parents support Shakhtar, are in the fan club and attend matches at the Donbas Arena. when he was very young. The boy often played in the yard, and with friends and parents attended matches of the local FC “Mariupol”.

On February 24, 2022, Dmytro's entire family was in Mariupol. They lived in the eastern part of the city, and when heavy bombing began, they moved to the Primorsky district to visit friends. However, in a few days the shells flew into the roof of the house, into the yard. The city lost gas, electricity, heating, and no water.

The family left all their belongings and decided to hide in the basement of the Mariupol Drama Theater and wait for the bombing. From March 6 to 15, the family hid there, and on the eve of the bombing of the drama theater, March 16, she managed to leave the city and get to Poland, where families helped find housing and everything necessary.

It will be recalled that Shakhtar received a special permit from the Ministry of Sports so that the club's players could leave Ukraine during martial law and play charity sparring matches.

All funds from Shakhtar Global Tour for Peace will go to humanitarian aid to the people of Ukraine.
