Several national Eurovision juries have suspected collusion

Six national juries agree to give their countries the highest marks following the results of the second semifinal of “Eurovision-2022” in Turin, reports DW.

As the organizer of “Eurovision” explained, that is why in the second semifinal and in the final of the competition and May 14, the results of the voting of national juries from six countries – Azerbaijan, Georgia, Poland, Romania, San Marino and Montenegro – were annulled.

This follows from the press release of the European Language Union, published on Thursday, May 19.

The highest scores for Eurovision outsiders differed sharply from the results of voting by judges from 15 other countries, who evaluated the performances of the second semifinalists. These juries did not give five of these countries a place even in the top eight, which allowed the European Broadcasting Union to question the fairness of the vote.

Moreover, four of these six countries were at the bottom of the rankings. other national juries.

According to the rules of the competition, the results of the jury from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Poland, Romania, San Marino and Montenegro were annulled and replaced with aggregate, ie compiled on the basis of the results of the jury of other countries.

According to the European Language Union, “given the unprecedented nature of violations”, the results of the jury of six countries that were fined were invalidated not only in the second semifinals, but also in the final of “Eurovision-2022”.

This year's competition in Turin was won by the Ukrainian band Kalush Orchestra with the song “Stefania”. The last place was taken by Germany. Belarus and Russia have been excluded from Eurovision .

Of the six countries that violated the voting rules, Georgia, San Marino and Montenegro did not make it to the finals, while Poland and Azerbaijan failed to reach the final. and Romania took 12th, 16th and 18th place respectively.
