Sanctions against Russia: Russia's car industry is returning to the standards of the 1980s

It is allowed to produce cars with exhaust, which meets the standards of 1988.

The Russian government has allowed the release of simplified models of cars with lower environmental and safety standards. The relevant resolution was signed by Prime Minister Mykhailo Mishustin, which will run until February 1 next year. This was reported by the Russian media with reference to the official statement.

It is specified that the document allows Russian car plants to produce cars of any environmental class, even “Euro-0”. That is the country now has all environmental standards, from Euro-0 to Euro-5, which allows the production of cars with exhaust that meets the standards of 1988.

Companies can also produce cars without anti-lock brake system (ABS), airbags and dynamic stabilization system (ESP). At the same time, the government has decided not to remove the ERA-GLONASS emergency response system from cars.

Earlier it was reported that analysts believe that because of the sanctions there are three scenarios of collapse of the Russian economy.

Also S&P analysts have given ten years to restore the Russian economy to 2021. The company forecasts a reduction in GDP this year by 11.1%. They predict that by 2023 the decline will slow to 1.9%, and for the year – to 1.6%. But by 2026, the aggressor's GDP will increase again by 1.9%.
