Salt does not become more expensive: the Center for Counteracting Disinformation refuted a number of fakes about salt

In large supermarkets, there is a stockpile of several thousand tons of salt at 160 g per person per month.

The Center for Combating Disinformation (JRS) under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine has compiled a selection of fakes regarding the Artemsil enterprise and salt stocks in Ukraine. This was reported in the Telegram channel of the JRS.

So the fake is the message that you need to buy salt, because it will not be sold anywhere.

The JRS explains that the only thing that is true is that due to the shelling of the occupiers and the danger to the lives of workers, the state enterprise Artemsil, located in Soledar, Donetsk region, stopped in April salt production. “

At the same time, large chain supermarkets have a salt supply of several thousand tons.

It is also a fake that salt has risen several times.

“Due to high demand and the“ opportunity to earn ”in retail stores and markets, the price of salt is artificially inflated. But it is the massive purchase of salt in large quantities that leads to shortages and further price increases! ”The JRS explained.

According to the JRS, sausage and smoked producers use imported specially prepared salt. In addition to their own salt stocks in warehouses, large producers have concluded additional agreements on the supply of salt from abroad.

In Ukraine, salt is also produced by the Drohobych Saltworks, which has increased its capacity to 55 tons per month. But this is not enough even to provide the Lviv region. For comparison, Artemsil extracted 2 million tons of salt a year.

This week it became known that the Silpo supermarket chain has agreed to supply 200 tons of salt from Romania and Turkey. Deliveries will take place in mid-June, and in the future the company plans to import such a volume of this product every month.

Italy.
In addition, in April, “Silpo” began to cooperate with Drohobych Saltworks.

At the same time, the ATB says that salt deficiency does not occur has, but the imported product will be more expensive due to complex logistics. It does not go through ports that are blocked, but through the mainland of Europe.

By the way, the Public Health Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine recommends consuming no more than 5 g of salt per day, ie a maximum of 160 g of salt per month.

“In Ukraine, salt has disappeared from store shelves: why and how it will affect the whole world” >, – read about it in the material of the expert in the field of agriculture of the information-analytical center “AGRO PERSPEKTIVA” Larysa Huk .
