Russian bakers have decided to save on bread

At the same time, experts believe that the law is on the side of producers.

According to Russian media, the Russians began to notice that bread “squeezed”. At the same time, all bakery products differ from those stated on the package, although prices have risen.

In addition to changing the weight of products, manufacturers are also going to other tricks. In particular, they use second-grade flour and increase the range of small bakery products weighing up to 300 grams. Also, chain stores began to exclude from sale relatively expensive ciabatta and custard.

According to the publication, the shortfall is observed in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Tula region, Bashkortostan. In some stores in these regions, bread was 50-70 grams lighter. And we are talking about both packaged and unpacked products.

According to Marianna Dubtsova, General Director for Quality of the Tula Bakery, the norms set by GOST for bread and bakery products allow for significant deviations in weight. So the declared weight of a loaf of 350 grams may in fact quite legally be 310 grams.
