Russia's losses from the transport blockade are negligible compared to Ukraine's

Ukraine loses about $ 3-5 billion a month from the transport blockade.

In the latest package of sanctions, the European Union has introduced a partial transport blockade RF. However, the imposed restrictions are not critical – the total loss of Russian exports will be about 5 million euros per year (approximately 0.1% of total exports). At the same time, the total losses of Ukraine's economy from the transport blockade due to the war will amount to approximately 3-5 billion dollars a month. And that's without taking into account the damage to infrastructure due to systemic bombing. Volodymyr Datsenko, the founder of the Railway without Corruption project, writes about this in his article. Light.

Only Russian ships and cars of Russian or Belarusian transport operators are banned by the EU. In addition, with certain exceptions: if such vehicles do not carry humanitarian, agricultural, food and other products. That is, the blockade does not apply to non-Russian vehicles.

In addition, the EU has imposed a total ban on imports from Russia of timber, cement and other industrial goods, part of which is not significant for the aggressor. The ban on exports to Russia will apply only to certain groups of goods, mostly high-tech products and machinery and high-value machinery, whose share in Russia's raw material exports is insignificant.

Given that Ukraine risks losing a third of GDP, she at least comparable to the blow to Russia's economy.
