РФ должна вывести свои войска до подписания мирного договора – Арахамия

Russia must withdraw its troops from Ukraine before the signing of the peace treaty , said the deputy head of the “Servant of the People” faction and a member of the Ukrainian delegation to the talks with Russia David Arahamiya in an interview with “RBC-Ukraine”. He clarified that it was a question of withdrawing the occupying forces to the positions that were as of February 23.

“When we go to the conditional signing of the agreement or the moment when it can already be seriously discussed, they will have to leave completely. And then we will sit down to sign, endorse or initial it. This is an international safeguard, not just our demands or requests, but the necessary conditions to ensure the working signing of this document, “Arahamiya said.

Asked by the journalist whether he understood correctly that it was a question of the return of troops on the line on February 23, 2022, Arahamia replied: “Yes, everything is true.”

He also added that Ukrainian proposals are still at an early stage. According to Arahamiya, the Ukrainian side initially noted that Russia should withdraw troops before the talks.

“But in this case, the Russians are losing a strong negotiating position, so they are reacting aggressively. And we made a decision – we specifically at the first meeting, on the first question asked: will you move within the framework of the Vienna Convention? They confirmed it. And the Vienna Convention helps us a lot, because it is clearly written that if the treaty is signed under pressure, it is considered null and void. Since they have already officially stated that they comply with the norms of the Vienna Convention, and international guarantors will not sit at the table without it, it means that this is our safeguard, ”Arahamiya added.
