Russia is sending eight Japanese diplomats because of their attitude to the war in Ukraine

In early April, official Tokyo expelled eight Russians from Japan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation responded to the expulsion of its diplomats from Japan. The agency went on counter sanctions and announced the expulsion of 8 Japanese colleagues from Russia.

The appeal says that due to Tokyo's “openly hostile anti-Russian position” on Russia after the start of the so-called “special operation” in Ukraine, constructive cooperation between the countries is currently impossible. The Russian government has demanded that 8 Japanese diplomats leave the country by May 10. It is believed that the administration of Prime Minister Fumio Kisida allegedly spreads slander against the actions of the Russian army in Ukraine and takes hostile political measures against Russia.
