Rolling Stone: Oligarch Fuchs before the Russian invasion paid people in Kharkov to paint swastikas on the walls

Sources told the publication that the billionaire helped Moscow prepare a provocation to justify the war against the alleged “Nazi” Ukrainian regime.

Rolling Stone: Олигарх Фукс перед вторжением России платил людям в Харькове, чтобы те рисовали свастики на стенах

A few months before the Russian army invaded Ukraine, an oligarch with Russian ties paid Kharkiv residents to paint swastikas on the city's streets. These efforts were part of preparations for an “under someone else's flag” operation to justify Vladimir Putin 's military aggression . The drawings were supposed to sharpen the assertion of an alleged “Nazi regime” in Ukraine.

Rolling Stone writes about this, citing its own sources, noting that the billionaire was Pavel Fuchs , who collaborated with the Russian secret services. From December to February, through intermediaries, Fuchs allegedly offered $ 500 to $ 1,500 to petty street criminals to paint the streets of Kharkov with Nazi graffiti.

The publication writes that Fuchs ' efforts to incite discord in Ukraine before the Russian invasion are evidenced by a number of different sources, including US intelligence reports. Rolling Stone reporters also spoke with an unnamed Ukrainian, claiming that he had twice quarreled with Fuchs over the swastika. Another story about the oligarch's activities in recent weeks came from a US intelligence informant with high-level ties to the government and business circles of Ukraine. An American official, who agreed to speak to reporters on condition of anonymity, confirmed that the US intelligence services are indeed studying Fuchs' behavior.

Former Ukrainian kickboxer Oleg Plush , who claims to have been friends with Fuchs and talked to him about swastikas on the streets of Kharkov, told Rolling Stone that he learned about the scheme from a middleman who was looking for people to do so. When the athlete asked about swastikas, Fuchs told him that he “had no choice.” And that he needs to fulfill this “task” if he wants to keep the business in the region.

The publication reminds that Fuchs is of Jewish origin. He also donated a considerable sum to the Holocaust Memorial in Kiev. Therefore, there is no reason to believe that he hired people to paint swastikas in Kharkov because of anti-Semitism. However, this confirms that there was at least one deliberate attempt by Russian intelligence services to fabricate “evidence” that would reinforce the Kremlin's fabrications about Nazism in Ukraine.

Plush told Rolling Stone that he was personally aware of three cases of anti-Semitic graffiti that Fuchs had paid for. According to him, one of them was painted in Kiev near the main synagogue. It happened in November. The “street thugs” who were hired for this were paid between $ 1,000 and $ 1,500. Plush claims that he personally knows at least two executors of Fuchs' orders .
