The DPS refused to comment on his departure through the official checkpoint.

, pro-Russian politician Andriy Portnov left the territory of Ukraine on June 3, 2022 through a checkpoint in Zakarpattia Oblast, reports “Schemy” with reference to three independent sources.

According to project informants, Portnov left for Hungary through the Chop (Tisa) checkpoint. At the same time, the State Border Service, in response to an information request by journalists, said that they would not provide an answer to the question on the basis of which Portnov crossed the border during the period of travel restrictions for men of conscription age, because “the content of the request concerns the provision of personal data, which is regulated by the Law of Ukraine “On the Protection of Personal Data “.

Note that Andriy Portnov has been under US sanctions since December 2021. Portnov was included in the list of persons under the so-called “Magnitsky act”, which includes high-ranking officials involved in human rights violations and large-scale corruption. Until 2014, Andriy Portnov was responsible for the direction of the judiciary in the presidential administration under Viktor Yanukovych. In the USA, he is accused of influence peddling in Ukrainian courts.

However, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine did not impose sanctions on Portnov. In particular, in September 2021, Oleksiy Danilov, the Secretary of the National Security Council, explained it as follows: “We have so many threats besides Portnov, people like Portnov – many, many. But you need to have arguments, evidence.”

In March 2022, Schem journalists established that Andriy Portnov’s family owns real estate in Moscow together with friends of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, and also showed Portnov’s secret fortress near Kyiv . However, Portnov never responded to journalists' inquiries regarding the investigation.

From August 27 to October 5, 2018, Portnov ran the pro-Russian TV channel NewsOne, which actively tried to discredit the Ukrainian Revolution of Dignity and subsequent pro-European reforms in the country, as well as promote pro-Russian ideas.
