Poland can lease nuclear power plants that are closed by Germany

Saving stations from closure is considered important from the point of view of European energy policy

Poland is considering a project to lease from Germany its nuclear power plants, which are due to close soon, Euractiv reports.

According to the publication, the proposal was warmly received by many politicians and parties.

Although the leasing of German nuclear power plants seems difficult to implement, climate experts emphasize that saving the plants from closure would be very important from the point of view of European climate and energy policy.

“Closing low-carbon power plants in 2022 is a climate crime. We must fight to ensure that nuclear power plants do not stop,” Polish legislators emphasize.
