On October 10, from 5 to 11 p.m., one of the most difficult evenings for the Ukrainian energy industry will begin. This was announced by the head of the Parliamentary Committee on Energy and Housing and Urban Development Andriy Gerus.

“Today at 5:00 p.m., the evening peak of electricity consumption will begin, which will last until 11:00 p.m. It will be one of the most difficult evenings for the Ukrainian energy industry,” he noted.

According to Gerus, the evening consumption peak is largely related to household consumption.

< p style="text-align: justify;">“If you can use less electricity tonight, it will significantly help the power system and reduce the need for emergency shutdowns,” he emphasized.

The following appliances are the most energy-consuming:

  • electric heaters
  • boilers
  • kitchen electric stoves,
  • microwave ovens,
  • washing machines,
  • electric ovens,
  • electric kettles (coffee makers),

  • dishwashers
  • air conditioners
  • chargers
  • vacuum cleaners
  • computers
  • televisions.

“Tonight you should minimize the use of such devices and instead use them at night or at lunchtime. Also, more economical use of lighting in the evening hours will ease the load on the power system. Tonight and the next few days, let's do everything possible to minimize electricity consumption between 5:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.,” said the head of the parliamentary committee.
