Netflix lost subscribers for the first time since 2010

The service left the Russian market after a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Netflix streaming service lost 200,000 subscribers in the first quarter of this year and is expected to lose another two million in the second quarter, according to Variety. This is the first loss of subscribers to the service since 2010.

In January, Netflix said its subscribers were 221.84 million at the end of 2021. This was followed by a three-month period that ended on March 31. At this time, the second season of “Bridgerton” was released on the service, but the total number of Netflix subscribers fell to 221.64 million.

The service itself predicted that its number of subscribers would increase by 2.5 million in the first quarter, and Wall Street analysts predicted that growth would be 2.8 million paid subscriptions during this time.
