Macron supports a return to negotiations, but there is a caveat

Decisions on when they should take place are made by Ukraine.

French President Emmanuel Macron supports renewal peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. He stated this during a press conference on the sidelines of the 27th UN Climate Conference in Egypt.

At the same time, the French leader is convinced that it is up to Kyiv to choose the right time for negotiations.

“We want return to peace It is up to Ukraine to determine the conditions and time when it wants to return to the negotiating table. But at a certain point it will have to be done,” said Macron.

Macron, who previously held not such a firm position, has already repeatedly emphasized that Ukrainians themselves should decide when the time for peace will come.
