Latvia will help Ukraine sell grain through its ports – Ministry of Agrarian Policy

Minister of Agrarian Policy Mykola Solskyi discussed with his counterpart Kaspars Gerhards the possibility of exporting Ukrainian grain through Latvian ports.

On April 22-24, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Solsky paid a working visit to Latvia. The head of the department met with his colleague Kaspars Gerhards and discussed with him the potential assistance of the Republic of Latvia in exporting Ukrainian grain to other countries.

According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, Solsky visited the free ports of Riga and Ventspils and the special economic zone of Liepaja. The Minister got acquainted with the port and logistics infrastructure of Latvia, as well as discussed the possibilities of exporting Ukrainian agricultural products with the help of Latvian ports. Solsky also met with representatives of Latvian local governments, representatives of port administrations, grain terminal operators, and Latvian grain traders.

Earlier, Latvian President Egils Levits said that his country supports Ukraine's accession to the EU and is ready to help overcome the export crisis caused by the war against Russia.
