Kuleba on relations with Hungary: “Everything will be fine, we just have to wait”

The head of the Foreign Ministry believes that Viktor Orban's policy has not yet caused critical damage to Ukraine.

The policy of the Hungarian government regarding the support of Russia and constant criticism of the European Union is a “political game” of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who is trying to get the maximum benefit for himself from both sides. But in the future, diplomatic relations and cooperation between Kyiv and Budapest will definitely improve, according to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba. He stated this in an interview with TSN.

According to the Ukrainian diplomat, the current position of the Hungarian authorities does not bring critical harm to Ukraine, although it is sometimes unpleasant for the public. Kuleba noted that despite a number of ambiguous statements about the war, Viktor Orbán made them primarily in pursuit of domestic political interests.

“So far, he has his own internal politics. He plays it, fights for Brussels' money, criticizes Brussels, these are their business. Orbán is a very cunning politician. Even if he burns all the bridges, he will build a pontoon crossing. You just have to wait for Hungary… As long as it takes. Everything will be fine. So far, there is no critical damage from their policies. If she appears, we will change our position,” the minister said.
