Ivan Franko National Theater presents patriotic project “Songs of the Unbreakable”

The project was opened by the song “You hear, my friend, glorious young man”.

The other day the Ivan Franko National Theater on its YouTube -channel announced the start of the patriotic music project “Songs of the Unbreakable”, in which theater actors present interpretations of their songs written during the Russian-Ukrainian war, as well as songs that have come down to us since the Ukrainian liberation movement.

The project was opened by the song “Do you hear, my friend, glorious young man” performed by actor Ivan Zalusky. The text of the song, based on archival research, was returned to Ukraine in 1994 by the famous kobzar, People's Artist of Ukraine Taras Kompanichenko. It is this composition in a new arrangement and opened the project of the Franks “Songs of the Unbreakable”. Bass guitar: Yaroslav Gurevich, electric guitar: Stanislav Moroz, electric piano: Alexander Kokhanovsky, drums: Danilo Kolokolnikov. The “Songs of the Unbreakable” party includes several repertoire directions. There will be original songs by Frankivsk actors inspired by this war. These are original compositions by actors Mykhailo Kukuyuk, Mykhailo Matyukhin, Kateryna Artemenko. Some of these songs we managed to record together with the band “Bozhichi” in the West of Ukraine within the expedition “Paths of the UPA” Є There are rifle, insurgent, soldier, Cossack songs. “Songs of the Unbreakable” is a continuation of the previous art project of the theater “Poetry of the Unbreakable”, within which the Franks created about twenty poetic videos based on modern poems born of the Russian-Ukrainian war. Among the authors are Serhiy Zhadan, Ihor Astapenko, Yuriy Rybchynsky, Yurko Izdryk, Kateryna Kalytko, and other contemporary poets.

Exactly a month ago, this Ukrainian poetic video cycle began with Ostap Stupko's text by Serhiy Falion “We are moving on!”. Later, there were acting poetry stories from Alexander Formanchuk, Natalia Sumskaya, Irina Doroshenko, Alexei Bogdanovich, Ksenia Basha, Roman Yasinovsky. Ahead are poetic videos by Tatiana Mikhina, Vitaly Azhnov, and other Frankivsk residents (artistic director of the Poetry of the Unbreakable project is Dmytro Bogomazov, moderator is Ivan Urivsky, literary editor is Oleg Vergelis, and video director is Anastasia Korzhova).

Such creative patriotic initiatives of our theater as “Poetry of the Unbreakable” and “Songs of the Unbreakable” are, first of all, the activities of the Franks on the cultural front of Ukraine during the war, it is also our patriotic theatrical contribution to the common cause of Ukraine's Victory. Modern Ukrainian poems and Ukrainian songs are currently receiving many good and enthusiastic responses from many fans of our theater and users on YouTube and social networks. artists will create a stage version of the project “Unbreakable”.
