It has become easier for the unemployed to register in Ukraine, even for those who have not worked in the state

People who, after the imposition of martial law, worked under an employment contract, gig contract or other civil contract may obtain official unemployment status.

The government has simplified registration with the State Employment Service for Ukrainians who lost their jobs during martial law. The relevant resolution was adopted at a meeting of the Government on April 29.

Persons who do not have a complete package of documents to apply, will be able to register for unemployment under the simplified procedure – through Application or Action Portal.

It is about submitting an application in electronic form without documents on education, employment record book, military registration document, etc.

Official status of the unemployed can be obtained by people who, after the imposition of martial law, worked under an employment contract, gig contract or other civil contract, but lost their jobs.

The government guarantees the payment of benefits to all those who are registered in the manner prescribed by law.

“The state provides and confirms social guarantees for the population. In particular, the Government has allocated 1.2 billion hryvnias from the reserve fund to repay arrears of unemployment benefits. At the same time, the priority is to minimize unemployment. That is why we are actively continuing the relocation of enterprises, stimulating IDP employment compensation, implementing a deregulation policy to make business work and create new jobs, “said Igor Dyadyura, Deputy Minister of Economy for Digital Development, Digital Transformations and Digitization.
