In St. Petersburg, deputies accused Putin of treason — they were already called to the police

The municipal councils of Moscow and St. Petersburg call on Putin to resign.

Several municipal deputies in St. Petersburg were summoned to the police after calls for the impeachment of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

On September 7, local deputies of the Smolny municipality criticized the “special operation” and suggested that the State Duma of the Russian Federation accuse Vladimir Putin of treason and remove him from the post.

The author of the appeal is Dmitrii Palyugaposted it on Twitter. The deputy claims that Putin is responsible for the destruction of able-bodied Russian men, Russia's economic decline and brain drain, as well as the eastward expansion of NATO.

The deputies are convinced that the “special operation” announced on February 24 has achieved the opposite effect , than expected.

“We believe that Putin's decision to start the SVO harms the security of Russia and its citizens,” says the decision supported by the majority of deputies.

Later Dmitry Palyuga and fellow MP Nikita Yuferev published a summons on Twitter, which was issued to them by the St. Petersburg police for “discrediting the authorities”.

He said that two of the four people's deputies who were summoned have been released by the police, and they all face fines.

“For now, we there is a fine, but it will be decided by the court. For the time being, on the recommendation of the lawyer, I will refrain from commenting,” he added.

As reported, The Council of Deputies of the Lomonosivskyi Municipal District in Moscow adopted an appeal to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin with a call to draw up his powers.
