Sales of new cars in Russia in March 2022 will fall in physical terms at least twice compared to February – this forecast was made by the head of the analytical agency “Avtostat” Sergei Tselikov.
“The market expects an unprecedented drop in sales,” said Roman Eshkilev, an expert on the Bankauto marketplace.
According to him, there are several reasons for this. First, the dealers themselves, even having stock balances for many brands, were not ready to sell them, not realizing what would happen to subsequent deliveries from automakers.
Second, car loan rates have risen sharply in the car market, and some banks have stopped issuing them. All this together has led to a critical drop in demand.

Each participant in the chain from production to sale increased its share of the margin, which led to such an increase in prices. From the beginning of the year to the end of March, new cars went up by 50% to 100% and more. And the rise in prices was for all brands, even Russian.
