In Brazil, a football coach hit a female referee in the head

A wild case from Latin America.

A glaring episode occurred during a match of the Brazilian state championship Espírito Santo between New Venice and Desportiva Ferroviaria.

During the break, Deportivo's head coach Rafael Soriano ran onto the field and hit side-on-face referee Marcelli Netto in the face. The woman grabbed her nose and Soriano received a straight red card.

Soriano was dissatisfied with the judge's actions and accused the 29-year-old of “wanting to take advantage of being a woman.” The club later announced the dismissal of Soriano from the post of head coach.
