The former president of the United States during his speech at the rally made a frank statement regarding the financing of NATO.

In the United States, the congressional elections which should take place already on November 8. The leaders of the Democratic and Republican parties are actively campaigning for citizens to support them in the mid-term elections in the USA. In particular, during a speech at a rally in the state of Florida, former President Donald Trump said that during his tenure, he made it clear to NATO allies that the United States would not protect them from Russia if they did not increase deductions to the budget of the North Atlantic Alliance. This was reported by the Russian news agency “TASS” with reference to the TV channel “Newsmax”, where the speech was broadcast live.

According to the ex-president of the USA, during a meeting of NATO leaders, one of the leaders of the allied countries asked him what would happen if the Russian Federation attacked the Alliance. To which Trump replied: “If you are insolvent, then you will not receive protection”.

According to the former president of the United States, after this conversation it was possible to agree on an increase in NATO funding by $400 billion.
