If Russia manages to destroy Ukraine, it will be the beginning of the Third World War – Zelensky

The President called on the world to help Ukraine defeat the enemy.

The Armed Forces continue an active counteroffensive at once on several operational lines and are gradually liberating the territory of Ukraine from the invaders. However, the final outcome of the war is quite difficult to predict at the moment, since the further course of hostilities depends on many factors. The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that if the Russian Federation still succeeds in seizing Ukraine, the world will face the Third World War. The politician said this in an interview with the BBC.

Zelensky expressed confidence that Ukraine will defeat the enemy, but did not predict when it would happen.

“The war will end with victory. I have no doubts. Our victory. I understand that it is difficult and not easy, no one knows whether it will be tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, no one knows the day or the month, but I believe in this victory,” the president said.

He noted that the world should not allow Russia to destroy Ukraine, because then terrible consequences will await everyone.

“Either the victory of Ukraine, or the loss of the whole world. Because giving Russia the opportunity to destroy Ukraine and the Ukrainian people will be the beginning of a great world tragedy. I think it will be the start of World War III because we know the autocracies in the world who might think that it was possible. I believe that this will be a very terrible sign for the world,” he emphasized.
