Hulu's The Handmaid's Tale has been renewed for a sixth and final season

The action of the series takes place in a totalitarian theocratic country, which was created on the site of the modern USA, where childbirth is reduced to a cult. In view of the demographic catastrophe, a handful of fertile women were turned into silent performers of the ritual for 9 months.

Hulu continued the series “The Handmaid's Tale » based on Margaret Atwood's novel of the same name for its sixth and final season. The continuation of the Emmy award-winning picture was announced on the eve of the premiere of the fifth season, which will take place on September 14, writes Deadline.

The new series picks up years after the events of the previous season. It will be recalled that the streaming service released the trailer of the fifth season two weeks ago.

At a minimum, she will have to see the widow of the commander Serena (Yvonne Strahovski) and at some level again face Gilead (the territory where the United States used to be, on which a totalitarian theocratic regime is established – ed.). But most of all, she will be forced to rethink her identity and purpose, which are now forever changed.
