How will the resignation of Draghi and Johnson affect the anti-Putin coalition: the State Department made a forecast

The US will not comment on the formation of the government or any aspects of the domestic politics of these countries.

State Department spokesman Ned Price assured that the resignations of Boris Johnson of Britain and Mario Draghi of Italy will have no influence on the policy of the G7, including Ukraine, Russia and China.

“Our alliance with Great Britain, our alliance with Italy, again, is based not on personalities, not on political parties, but on decades of shared interests, shared values,” Price answered during the last briefing .

At the same time, he warned that the State Department would not comment on the formation of the government in Italy or any aspects of Britain's domestic policy.

“I am confident that when both countries potentially have leadership — when both countries potentially have new leadership — they will remain loyal partners in the context of the G7, in the context of our shared and collective challenges.” , said the spokesman of the State Department.

Price also noted that the coalition of countries united especially against the background of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

“This coalition has proven to be surprisingly resilient… We are confident in the strength, we are confident in the durability of this coalition and the willingness of our allies and partners to continue to support Ukraine and continue to hold Russia accountable,” Price said.
