“Holding on to our victories”: the Ukrainian vice-champion of the world spoke about her parents in occupied Kherson

Anastasia Chetverikova emphasized that her relatives are watching her success even in the occupation.

Ukrainian world rowing vice-champion Anastasia Chetverikova commented on winning the medal and touched on the topic of parents who are in occupied Kherson.

“Probably one good thing is that we are doing this for our country, the people. So that everyone can see how much our the country is invincible and very strong. In fact, this is the only thing that saves. Because psychologically, morally, they just fall. Everything was breaking, falling out of hand when it started.

But my parents, who are in Kherson, believe that that we have to do our job, finish everything, prove that we are a strong nation, we are doing it for our country. They are also happy about our races and victories even in the occupation.

My mother called me and said: “That's it, I'm already crying.” It's very difficult for them. As she tells how things are going, I understand that they just hang on to the fact that my brother and I are not at home, they want to see us. They hang on to every neck of victory We are their support, just as they are ours,” Chetverikova is quoted as saying by Tribuna.com.

Remember, Anastasia Chetverikova won the silver medal at the 2022 World Championship in Canada among canoe doubles at a distance of 500 meters in a pair with Lyudmila Luzan .
