Germany bids farewell to Russian oil: assets of Rosneft nationalized

The country's government took control of three oil refineries.

The German government, guided by the law on energy security, took trust management of Rosneft Deutschland GmbH (RDG) and RN Refining & Marketing GmbH (RNRM), as stated in the notification of the Ministry of Economy and Environmental Protection, “Interfax-Ukraine” reported.

It is noted that the Federal Network Agency received under its control the subsidiary structure of NK Rosneft and its share in three oil refineries: PCK Raffinerie (Schwedt), MiRo (Karlsruhe) and Bayernoil (Vogburg).

At the same time, the ministry indicated the reasons for such a decision. For example, the main suppliers of critical services, such as insurance companies, IT firms and banks, as well as customers against the background of the full-scale war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine, were no longer ready to cooperate with Rosneft and German enterprises and organizations belonging to it. .

NK Rosneft is the third largest player in the oil refining market in Germany. The company is a shareholder of three refineries (PCK – 54.17%, MiRO – 24%, Bayernoil – 28.57%) with a total capacity of 12.8 million tons per year. Operational activities are carried out by Rosneft Deutschland GmbH. It manages both the supply of oil to oil refineries, the shares of which are owned by Rosneft, and the sale of petroleum products.
