Gazprom's new blackmail: gas supplies to Germany halved

Russia's Gazprom, Europe's largest gas supplier in two days reduced supplies to Germany by about 60%. DW writes about it.

In general, since the beginning of Thursday, the Russian monopolist began to reduce gas supplies to Germany through the Nord Stream-1 gas pipeline to a daily maximum of 67 million cubic meters.

On Tuesday, ” Gazprom has announced a reduction in the maximum supply to 100 million cubic meters of gas per day against 167 million cubic meters.

The overall reduction was about 60% in just two days.

German Economy Minister Robert Habek the day before, he accused Moscow of trying to raise concerns and raise gas prices. He added that alternative gas supplies to the market are still possible, albeit at a higher price.
