For the first time, the national team of Ukraine won a medal at the European Curling Championships

Ukrainians performed successfully in Kaunas.

Men's curling team of Ukraine won silver at the championship Europe in Division C, reports Tribuna.com.

The national team in Kaunas, Lithuania was represented by Eduard Nikolov, Mykita Velychko, Yaroslav Schur and Artem Sugak.

Ukrainians in the group beat Croatia (6: 5), Lithuania (9: 1), Bulgaria (6: 5), Liechtenstein (10: 4), Andorra (6: 3), Portugal (7: 2) and lost to Ireland (4: 6) and Romania (4: 6). The team reached the final, where they lost to Ireland with a score of 2: 8. Portugal won the bronze medal of the tournament.

For Ukraine, this is the first award of the continental championship in history. Thanks to this achievement, the team rose to Division B.

The women's national team of Ukraine took seventh place in Division C.
