For the first time in history, the Ukrainian national basketball team won < strong> Deaflympics .
In the final Stanislav Kakovkin's team confidently defeated rivals from the USA – 91:66.
At the Deaflympics tournament in Brazil, the Ukrainians won all eight matches, beating the Americans The only defeat.
In the group stage, our team defeated Lithuania (93:48), Brazil (92:45), Greece (89:41), Venezuela (88:53) and Taiwan (81:35).
In the quarterfinals, Ukraine beat Argentina (88:50), and in the semifinals – Venezuela (82:72).
Ukraine continues to lead in the overall medal standings – the Ukrainians won 51 gold, 31 silver and 34 bronze medals.
Deaflympics is a competition among people with hearing impairments. Ukraine is represented in Brazil by 170 athletes in 16 sports.
