Footballer Yarmolenko appeals to world community to release Ukrainians from Azovstal

The leader of the Ukrainian national team recorded the appeal.

Ukrainian winger “West Ham” Andriy Yarmolenko recorded an appeal in English to the world community to release Ukrainians from Azovstal.

From ship and ground artillery, from tanks, from Azovstal fighter jets carrying hundreds of civilians (including children) and thousands of servicemen, including 700 wounded, are shelled by Russians. “

We ask international organizations and world politicians and diplomats to put pressure on Putin and promote a green corridor for all of Azovstal: civilians, military, wounded and killed. This will stop bloodshed, genocide and death.” Yarmolenko said on his Instagram page.

We will remind, on May 3 the Russian occupiers stormed the Azovstal metallurgical plant in Mariupol. Civilians and Ukrainian defenders are still on its territory. On May 4, the Russians broke into the plant.

Mariupol Mayor Vadym Boychenko said more than 100,000 people remain in the occupied city. According to preliminary data, there were about a thousand Mariupol civilians, including about 60 children, in the Azovstal bomb shelters. There are also several hundred wounded Ukrainian servicemen.
