EU countries need Ukraine to supply gas at 80% by November 1 – Ministry of Energy

Not all European countries have their own gas storage facilities.

European countries have the opportunity to store strategic gas reserves in Ukraine. This allows the decision of the European Council, which obliges EU countries to fill gas storage facilities by 80% by November 1, said Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko.

At the same time, he noted that storage conditions in Ukraine are almost non-existent. are more optimal in Europe.

It will be recalled that on June 24 the European Parliament approved a new regulation, which established that the mandatory minimum level gas in storage must be provided at 80% by November 1, 2022. In addition, EU Member States and operators should aim for 85%, with a target of 90% in the coming years. This Regulation was approved by the European Council on 27 June.
