“Dirty bomb”: Russia often blames others for what it plans to do – Kuleb

The Ministry of Defense of Russia “preemptively” accused Ukraine of using a “dirty bomb”.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba responded to the statements of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Serhiy Shoigu that Ukraine is allegedly planning to use a “dirty bomb”.

“Russia's lies about Ukraine's alleged plans to use a “dirty bomb” are as absurd as they are dangerous. First, Ukraine is a committed party to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT): we do not have any “dirty bombs” and do not plan to have them. Secondly, Russians often accuse others of what they plan themselves”, – wrote the minister on Twitter.

On October 23, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu called French Defense Minister Sébastien Lecorne, Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar, and British Defense Minister Ben Wallace in turn to “express concern over possible provocations by Ukraine with the use of a 'dirty bomb.'”

Meanwhile, experts from the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW), based on open sources, have indicated several times that Moscow is probably preparing an informational background for a provocation under a foreign flag. In particular, the Russian military can blow up the Kakhovskaya HPP dam in order to cover their retreat from the right bank of the Dnieper and slow down Ukraine's advance.

According to analysts, the Kremlin may try to use this provocation in order to divert attention from the news about the third humiliating retreat of Russian troops.
