Denmark will send 800 troops to the Baltic states to bolster NATO in the east. This was announced by Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda after a meeting with Danish Prime Minister Matte Frederiksen.

“Not just words, but real actions that improve our security situation. Thank you, Denmark!” The president wrote.

Earlier it was reported that Finland had discussed with NATO the prospects of joining the Alliance to strengthen security in the country. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has said that Finland and Sweden can look forward to joining the Alliance as soon as possible. According to Stoltenberg, both countries meet many of the alliance's standards and have well-functioning institutions in the field of defense and security.
