“Can spring be black and white?”: Zelensky's address to the anniversary of the end of World War II

Zelensky reminded the Russians of the crimes of Nazism, which they repeat in Ukraine.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the anniversary the end of the Second World War, the victims of which Ukraine and the whole world honor on May 8.

“Can spring be black and white? Is there eternal fury? Are golden words devalued? Unfortunately, Ukraine knows the answers to all these questions. Unfortunately, the answer to all these questions is “Yes,” the president said. p>

“We knew the price our ancestors paid, and we knew how to preserve this wisdom for posterity, but we had no idea that our generation would witness the abuse of words, which turned out to be true for not everyone.” p>

This year we say “Never again” differently. We hear “Never Again” differently. It sounds painful, cruel. Without an exclamation, but with a question mark. You say: never again? Tell Ukraine about it. “On February 24, the word 'never' was erased,” the president said.

The president recorded his address in Borodyanka, Kyiv region, against the background of bombed-out apartment buildings destroyed by the Russian occupiers. A town that survived World War II in the 1940s and fought against Nazism.

This town is dumbfounded and cannot say “Never again.” He can't say anything. But everything is clear here, “he said.” Zelensky also reminded about the occupied Mariupol, which is now under occupation for the third time. Two of them are due to the capture of the Russian invaders.

“In a different form, under different slogans, but for the same purpose, a bloody reconstruction of Nazism was staged in Ukraine. Fanatical imitation of this regime, its ideas, goals, words and symbols. Manic to the details of the reproduction of his atrocities and alibis, which seem to give an evil sacred purpose. And even attempts to surpass the teacher and move him from the pedestal, “the head of state stressed the essence of the Russian war in Ukraine.
