Boris Johnson may end his political career after resigning as UK Prime Minister – The Daily Telegraph

The British politician is likely to return to journalism.

Boris Johnson is considering the option of ending his political career after resigning as Prime Minister of Great Britain. The representative of the Conservative Party will most likely return to journalistic activities. This is reported by The Daily Telegraph.

According to the publication, Johnson is not yet going to hand over his parliamentary mandate, which he retains after resigning from the post of head of government. Early elections in his electoral district may lead to another defeat for the Conservative Party, which in recent months has significantly lost the support of the electorate at the local level.

Nevertheless, sources close to the ex-prime minister report that Johnson does not intend to participate in the next planned elections. The politician is ready to end his political career and give lectures at corporate events, as well as start a career as a publicist. The Daily Telegraph notes that in 2016 he promised to write a biography of William Shakespeare and even took an advance of £88,000, but soon postponed the publication.

There is also a high probability that Johnson will return to the journalistic work he did before his political career. He was the highest-paid newspaper columnist in Britain and, among other things, had his own weekly column in The Daily Telegraph.
