Biden is not yet interested in a personal meeting with Putin — Nuland

The US Deputy Secretary of State said that “a certain amount of time must pass” for the politicians to talk.

During the future summit of the G20, which will take place in the fall in Indonesia, a personal meeting between the presidents of the Russian Federation and the USA should not be expected. At the moment, Joe Biden is not interested in talking with Vladimir Putin, US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland said during a speech at the Yalta European Strategy Annual Meeting , reports “Ukrinform”.

According to Nuland, a bilateral meeting between the presidents of Russia and the United States “must take some time”.

“As for the meeting in Bali, some time will pass before it. So far, I don't see any interest in Putin on the part of our president,” said the US representative.

At the same time, she emphasized that if the Kremlin dictator participates in the G20 summit, the leaders of the G20 countries should directly declare to him the inadmissibility of the actions of the Russian army in Ukraine.

“If he appears, I think the G20 leaders should directly tell him about their vision of what is happening in Ukraine, about Russia's violation of all possible principles laid down in a number of documents signed by the Soviet Union. We are convinced that under certain circumstances we will have a deep unity, demanding the withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of Ukraine,” said Deputy Anthony Blinken.
