Arahamiya accused Georgia of aiding Russia in circumventing the sanctions

Russian businessmen especially benefit from this.

The head of the Ukrainian delegation at the talks with Russia and the head The Servant of the People faction in parliament, David Arahamiya, claims that the Georgian government continues to provide services to Russia to circumvent international sanctions.

“All of Europe says it will not open accounts for Russian citizens banks, and Georgian banks do it with great pleasure. Russian businessmen evade sanctions with the help of Georgian companies. All this is done with the knowledge of the Georgian government, “Arahamiya said in an interview with the Georgian opposition TV channel Mtavari Arkhi.

He believes that normalization of relations between Ukraine and Georgia is possible only if the Georgian government joins international sanctions against Russia, as well as the organization of the speech of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in the Parliament of Georgia, as he did in many countries around the world. And only then will Kyiv be able to return its ambassador to Tbilisi.

Now, according to Arahami, Georgia is pursuing relations with Ukraine primarily in view of the Kremlin's position.

In early April, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said Georgia would not join sanctions against Russia, denying the Georgian president's remarks Salomi Zurabishvili that her country joins the sanctions imposed on Russia by the collective West.

Earlier it was reported that Zelensky recalled the ambassador from Georgia due to the position of the Georgian government, which did not support sanctions against Russia.
