An art critic from Irpen held a photo exhibition in her war-ravaged apartment

The exposition under the general title “Everyone is afraid of the baker, but I thank” among other things, contains a story about a man who traveled under fire from a neighboring village to the local “Silpo” and prepared bread for the townspeople.

Art critic Kateryna Yakovlenko, for whom until February 24, Irpin was home, held a photo exhibition about the experience of destruction in her apartment destroyed by the war. For the exhibition, it was possible to collect the works of artists who recorded the war, writes Bird in Flight. This is how she recalls the events of the first day of the new reality:

“On February 24, I was at home. Woke up at eight, saw the missed calls, did not understand anything. Later, everything became clear. But even then it was almost impossible to leave Irpen, there was no public transport… It was good to hear how bridges were being blown up, how planes were flying and how air defense was working”.
