10 EU countries have armed Russia since 2014, despite a European Parliament resolution

The lion's share of supplies fell to Germany and France.

10 years after Russia's attack on Ukraine and the occupation of part of the territories in 2014, 10 European Union member states continued to sell weapons to Russia, even in defiance of the European Parliament's ban. This was announced by Adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Anton Gerashchenko.

According to Investigative Europe, France and Germany sold the most.

At the same time, data from all official registers of EU-27 arms exports show that in the period from 2015 to 2020 at least 10 EU member states exported weapons to Russia for a total of 347 million euros. These include France, Germany, Italy, Austria, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Finland, Slovakia and Spain.

All these countries have sold Russia “military equipment “contrary to the prohibition of the decision of the Council of Europe. However, the lion's share of supplies – 274 million euros, fell on Germany and France.

On July 31, 2014, the European Parliament adopted a decision banning the sale of Russia weapons, military equipment and dual-use goods, in connection with the destabilization of Russia's situation in Ukraine.

“It is unfortunate that some Member States (EU) show disunity and lack of solidarity “.
